Welcome to The Huxley Practice. We look forward to working with you. These Terms and Conditions provide an outline of our services and the way we run.
1. Introduction
These Terms and Conditions outline the rules and regulations for the use of our medical services.
Purpose: This document sets forth the terms and conditions under which we operate and provide services to patients.
Scope: Dr Antolin Wilkinson offers general medical (médico general) services to patients in Mallorca. These include medical consultations, prescriptions, liaison with laboratory services and onward referrals.
2. Patient Responsibilities
Consent to Treatment: By agreeing to these terms, you consent to receive medical treatment from The Huxley Practice.
Transparency: Patients must provide accurate and complete information about their health when requested. This is necessary in order to provide optimal medical treatment. We do not accept any responsibility for problems caused by the provision of incomplete or inaccurate information.
Appointment Policies:
• Appointments must be scheduled in advance. We do not offer emergency or walk-in care.
• Please provide at least 24 hours' notice for cancellations.
• Repeated no-shows may result in a cancellation fee.
Payment Terms:
• We accept cash, bank cards and bank transfers.
• Payment is due at the time of service unless otherwise arranged.
• If during a consultation it becomes clear that further treatment will be needed (for example, follow-up appointments or blood tests), the fees and rationale for these will be explained before you are charged.
• We work directly with AirDr and AXA Global, and our official invoices will be accepted for reimbursement by many companies. Always check with your insurer prior to contracting any services.
· Refunds may be issued at our discretion, particularly in cases of service dissatisfaction or error. Please contact us promptly if you have concerns about payment or refunds.
3. Our Responsibilities
Confidentiality: We adhere to GDPR and Spanish data protection laws. Your medical information will be kept confidential except when disclosure is required by law.
We use secure, medical-grade electronic systems for storing and managing your health information. All systems comply with GDPR and relevant Spanish data protection laws.
Where electronic communication is used (e.g., email, messaging apps), we take reasonable steps to ensure the security and confidentiality of your information. However, please be aware that no system is completely secure, and there are risks associated with electronic communication.
Registration: Dr Lucy Antolin Wilkinson is registered as a médico general (‘general doctor’) with the Colegio Oficial de Médicos de las Islas Baleares (Medical College of the Balearic Islands). Her registration is number 070713174, as Dr Lucy Wilkinson. She will continue to maintain her registration and engage in the regular learning and updates required of all doctors.
Premises: We operate from within the Centro de Neurodiagnosis Dr Rossiñol at Avenida Alemania 3, 2o, 07003 Palma. The premises are registered with the Consejería de Salud. We work with the management team to ensure that our responsibilities for this registration are fulfilled. We may also provide home, hotel or boat visits by prior arrangement.
Language Provision: Our doctor will provide services in English and Spanish (Castellano). However, some staff in our wider network may need to communicate in Spanish (for example, reception staff, pharmacy staff, etc).
Our Colleagues: We work with a range of other healthcare providers including laboratories, pharmacies and other medical professionals to ensure a comprehensive service to our patients. However, we cannot be held responsible for any issues which arise from their performance or service provision. We cannot guarantee availability, timeframes or costs of the work carried out by third parties.
4. Use of third-party services
We may refer patients to third-party providers (e.g., laboratories, specialists, imaging centers) for tests or further treatment. We do not control the operations or quality of these third parties and cannot accept responsibility for errors, delays, or other issues arising from their services.
If you experience a problem with a third-party provider, please notify us immediately so we can assist you in resolving the issue.

We are committed to providing high-quality care and making every effort to achieve positive outcomes. However, due to the complex nature of medical treatments, we cannot guarantee specific results. All medical procedures and treatments carry some level of risk and variability in outcomes.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, The Huxley Practice and Dr Antolin Wilkinson are not liable for any loss, damage, or injury arising from the use of third-party services, or for events outside our reasonable control.
6. Specific exclusions
We provide general medical care. If you require a specialist opinion, we will recommend onward referral. We are unable to undertake specialist work.
Dr Antolin Wilkinson reserves the right to refuse prescriptions if they are felt to be inappropriate, unsafe or in need of specialist supervision. We do not prescribe benzodiazepines or other sedatives for air travel.
We provide services within our specified opening times and occasional services at other times by prior arrangement. We are unable to provide emergency or unscheduled care.
Examples of conditions requiring emergency care include (but are not limited to): chest pain, severe shortness of breath, reduced level of consciousness, stroke, vision loss, severe abdominal pain, suspected sepsis, acute confusion, seizures, heavy bleeding, head injuries, emergencies related to pregnancy and others.
7. Consent and documentation
Informed consent: By using our services, you confirm that you have been provided with sufficient information regarding your treatment options, risks, and benefits, and that you consent to the proposed care.
Record Keeping: We maintain accurate and up-to-date records in accordance with Spanish law and professional guidelines.
8. Termination of Services
We reserve the right to terminate services in cases of non-compliance with treatment plans, abusive behaviour, or non-payment.
Likewise, you are free to seek a second opinion or change doctors at any time. Booking an appointment with us does not constitute a long-term agreement, although we will be happy to care for you for as long as is mutually convenient.
9. Dispute Resolution
Any disputes will be initially addressed through our internal complaint procedure. If unresolved, disputes may be subject to mediation or Spanish legal procedures. Hojas de reclamación are available upon request.
Jurisdiction: These terms are governed by the laws of Spain. Any legal disputes will be subject to the courts of Palma de Mallorca.
9. Amendments
We may update these terms and conditions. Patients will be notified of any changes via email or during their next visit.
