What’s Included

This comprehensive panel screens for the most common and clinically important sexually transmitted infections, including blood-borne viruses.

Tests included

  • HIV (blood test)

  • Syphilis (blood test – RPR)

  • Chlamydia (urine sample for men / vaginal swab for women)

  • Gonorrhoea (urine sample for men / vaginal swab for women)

  • Trichomonas vaginalis (urine / vaginal swab)

  • Mycoplasma genitalium (urine / vaginal swab)

  • Hepatitis B (blood test)

  • Hepatitis C (blood test)

Samples are taken at our partner lab in central Palma, which is open every morning except Sundays. No appointment is needed.

Important: When to Test (Window Periods)

Sexually transmitted infections take time to become detectable. Testing too early can result in a false-negative result.

As a general guide:

  • Chlamydia, gonorrhoea, trichomonas, Mycoplasma genitalium:
Detectable from around 7–14 days after exposure

  • Syphilis:
Usually detectable from 3–6 weeks after exposure

  • HIV:
Modern tests are highly sensitive, but reliable screening is from 4–6 weeks after exposure

  • Hepatitis B and C:
Usually detectable from 4–8 weeks, depending on the test

If you test earlier than these timeframes, repeat testing may be recommended.

If you are unsure about timing, please contact us before purchasing.

How It Works

  1. Purchase your test online

  2. Register your details so we can create your secure medical record

  3. Attend the lab for blood tests and urine or vaginal swab samples

  4. Receive your results and medical interpretation, usually within 2–3 working days

All results are reviewed by an English-speaking doctor. You will receive a clear written explanation of your results and advice on any next steps.

If treatment is required, we will contact you directly and arrange prescriptions where appropriate.

Who This Test Is Suitable For

  • People who feel well and have no symptoms

  • Routine sexual health screening

  • Testing after a possible exposure (once the window period has passed)

  • People starting a new relationship

  • Those wanting reassurance with broader viral screening included

Who This Test Is Not Suitable For

This test is not appropriate if you have:

  • Genital symptoms (pain, discharge, sores, ulcers, bleeding, rash)

  • Pelvic or testicular pain

  • Fever or systemic symptoms

  • Any new or unexplained symptom following sexual contact

If you have symptoms, please book a GP appointment so you can be properly assessed and the correct tests arranged.

Important Information Before You Test

Testing too early

A negative result does not fully exclude infection if testing is done too soon after exposure. We will advise if repeat testing is recommended.

Sex and transmission risk

If you are within the window period, infection can still be transmitted even if an early test is negative. Using condoms or abstaining from sex until results are reliable is advised.

Partner testing

If an infection is identified, sexual partners may also need testing and/or treatment, even if they have no symptoms.

Confidentiality

All testing and results are handled confidentially. Your information is stored securely and shared only with you and your doctor. This service is frequently used by expats, visitors, and patients who value discretion.

What’s Not Included

This package includes:

  • Laboratory testing

  • A full written medical interpretation by a doctor

  • Direct contact if treatment is required

It does not include:

  • Follow-up consultations or phone calls

  • Ongoing sexual health care

  • Partner notification services

If further discussion or assessment is needed, we will advise you to book a GP appointment.
